In July of 2013, I took my mother (a current cancer survivor) to a local comedy show to celebrate her birthday. July is the month my father passed in 2010, so it’s often a difficult time for the family. While at the show the comedian made a joke about me and my mother and we were not even sitting in the front row. Instead of coming with jokes the Comedian made jokes of audience members. It hurt, especially since we came to the show needing a good laugh. We walked in the middle of the show and went home. Instead of receiving the oil of joy for the spirit of morning we were ridiculed. This should never happen to anybody. People who come to comedy shows; come to laugh and need a good laugh. I am creating a space where the oil of joy will reign supreme.
1. It’s a profanity free show,
2. Guests will not be the butt of the Jokes
3. You will have a good time!
